Rice

You are probably wondering why anyone would need a recipe for rice. I couldn't seem to cook rice successfully years ago. Then I discovered it was simpler than I was trying to make it. The biggest rule when making rice is - don't stir it. The second rule is - use the microwave.

Ingredients
	1 cup white rice
	1 1/2 - 2 cups cold water
	1 tsp salt
Procedure
Mix rice, water, and salt in a glass cooking dish.
Don't rinse it, don't fuss with it. Cover it and
place in microwave oven. Cook for 8 minutes on high,
then 18 minues on 60% power. It comes out right
every time, never burnt, never crunchy.

Variations
Brown rice requires 2 1/2 cups water per cup of rice
and 40 minutes at 60% power.

Wild rice requires 3 cups water per cup of rice
and 40 minutes at 60% power.

To make multicolored rice, that is, brown, wild, and white,
		1 cup white rice
		1/2 cup wild rice
		1/2 cup brown rice
		2 tsp salt
		4 1/2 cups water
Mix brown and wild rices with water and salt. Cover
and cook in microwave 10 minutes on high, then 25 minutes
at 60%. Then add white rice, cook it an additional 20
	minutes at 60%.
